History Project
Inspired by Charlie Corwin’s booklet, Big Sand Memoirs, which was published several years agoand prompted by the realization that several long-time Big Sand residents have already passed away, a small but dedicated group of volunteers met to form a Big Sand Lake History Committee. The goal of the project is to gather stories and document the rich history of our wonderful lake ranging from the earliest beginnings to the newest cabins built on the lakeshore.
We welcome any suggestions, and more volunteers, for the project. If you are interested in becoming involved, want more information, or have a story to submit, please contact the History Committee at history@bigsandlake.org.
An overview of the Big Sand History Project, which includes suggestions of what to include in a story about your cabin or experiences on Big Sand is available here. We look forward to adding your story to those we have already received.
Historical stories about Big Sand should be submitted with associated photos via email to history@bigsandlake.org.
